I have been Studying Incan Shamanism and have called on particular animals for their help. I haven't heard of using physical parts of animals for Shamanic work. I have been taught however, there is a difference between intent and intention. Intention is when you are working toward a specific outcome which is basically Sorcery. I have been taught intent must be done for the highest good of the patient and leave it to spirit to decide the outcome.

I have avoided the Shamanic path because I don't believe in using animals or parts of them to work energy (I don't wish to take a life to be a shaman). To me the formulation of an intention to work energy (toward a manifestation) is all that, I believe, is needed. Shamanic feats and training continue to come up in my life and I've found such things to be "shamanic" only after. I have enjoyed it and, like Dr. Susan Gregg, have vowed to use it for the good of the Universe.

Last evening, I received news which brought great joy to my soul; a grand celebration as it were. My daughter Rina, who is expecting her first child in about a month called and announced she was having a daughter. If ever there was greater joy, I am hard-pressed to find. The continuum of all my medicine grandmothers' traditions lives on. I, too, am the first-born granddaughter of my khokum. She raised and taught me the sacred teachings, and after her passing continued to do so through spirit journeys.

Rina insisted all along she was having a boy. However, I knew in my soul that if our traditions were to live on, she would bring forth a daughter, my first-born granddaughter. What better place than this site to announce this wonder!

Sending out the love and healing we have received unconditionally will not only assist the receivers but will assist all of the folks still lost in the storm.
Someone held the light for us to make it home. We are blessed. I, for one, desire to send he blessings forward. Thanks for asking me to join this group and in this healing work.

Today i listened to the news and my heart fell when I heard of the womyn and children dying in the wars. We must join together and hold a luminous space to engulf those countries who are clouded in darkness because I believe that only when we work together and send the light out when we hear or think of these things, and believe that we can make a change, then change will happen.
