Possible side effects of CHANNELING, from: "Ayurvedic Healing" by Dr. David Frawley,O.M.D.
"Channeling is a very complex phenomena and, though it may offer us much, does have possible side-effects. Whenever we allow another entity to work through our minds, we are risking both physical and mental health. On a physical level we have to die a little. We have to weaken the hold of our own life-force on our mind in order to let another being work through it. On a psychological level we tend to lose control of our emotional energy. Channeling in general aggravates Vata, the air element in the body. Long term it could lead to insomnia, epilepsy, paralysis, or arthritis. Jane Roberts , who started the whole channeling movement with her channeling of Seth, died at a relatively young age of rheumatoid arthritis, a typical Vata disorder. Ayurveda would tend to think it was caused by her practice. The risks of channeling, may take a number of years to manifest, like smoking for example. One consideration is that the unconsciousness during channeling is likely to have a damaging effect on the body and mind. If we retain our awareness, this is less likely to occur. When problems manifest they can generally be treated, by wearing blue stones such as blue sapphire, and amethyst, set in gold. Hessonite garnet is a good stone for protecting the aura."
Before I would delve deeper into Channeling I would learn more about it, especially from the Ayurveda. Meditation, coming from the healthy aspect of Ayuveda, has no bad side effects at all. I'd take the healthier choice. Knowledge is liberating, know all you can, before you dive in.................p.dasi
