The Body Soul & Spirit Expo

Many people would ask: " What is the use of Astrology?" Some would answer : " It is like a road map of your life." I think Astrology is important if a person has evolved to the point of asking : " How can I improve myself?" "How can I overcome my weaknesses, and how can I continue in my strengths?" In this way Astrology can be helpful, in finding out your destiny, your purpose in life, and how best to attain it. Thanks for taking up interest in this most beneficial Vedic Science. All Glories to Bharatavarsha, and it's guiding light of Jyotish! Those who thirst for knowledge shall find it.

This is an interesting comment but in fact, I don’t believe an evolved soul is a necessary prerequisite for using astrology. Consultations are very often used to address very simple everyday concerns of normal people, eg, when will I get married, will I have children, when will I find a job, can I sell my house...?

The beauty of astrology is that it can ALSO be used to address the many concerns of people operating at different levels. For example, to answer questions such as, what is the best occupation for me, what is my life purpose, what kinds of charity or service will best exhaust my karma, what sort of spiritual practice is best for me, will I achieve moksha...?

Every person is on a different trip. Astrology can help each and everyone map their way to their different destinations.

Namaste Alan:................I basically agree with your comment, considering I did not mention "Sukriti". Sukriti, is known in Sanskrit as the prerequisite , or qualification for higher attainment. That could be understood in different ways. Evolve is a word that is close in meaning to Sukriti. Karmically, for a person to be attracted to any higher form of knowledge, or to have faith in a science such as astrology, automatically means a higher development of consciousness. Attatho Brahma Jigyasya. Now is the time to inquire about the self, the absolute truth. When one inquires or seeks improvement even in ordinary concerns, and turns to Astrology for help, one unknowingly is taking shelter of an aspect of the Supreme Lord. Astrology in the Vedic Tradition, Jyotish, is a symbol of the eye of the Lord, the sun planet representing the eye of the Lord, or the all seeing knowledge aspect. All the Vedic Sciences are connected in an intimate way with the Supreme Lord., who is known in His different features according to the spirit level development of the individual. What concepts did you learn from your Jyotish Guru?.....................p.dasi

Well, I like the part of your answer that suggests a client who looks to Jyotish for answers is already operating on a higher plane. Indeed, it is a Sattwik nature that is open to counsel via Jyotish.

As for what concepts I learned from my Jyotish gurus, too numerous and too technical to discuss in this forum. Suffice to say, they have spanned all elements of human existence, from the mundane to the spiritual.

At Present we are in a Rahu Jupiter Conjunction:............emotional disturbances, turbulent life, changes and transformations.

any comments?

Rahu represents demonic forces, while Jupiter represents dharma, as epitomized by religion and spirituality. The nature of the two are quite antithetical, such that in some aspects, Rahu is seen as Jupiter's arch-rival. When the two are conjunct in a birth chart, it sometimes reflects Guru-Chandala Yoga, wherein the individual rebels against the wisdom of his guru, or other spiritual mentor(s). In current transits, the RA-JU conjunction can spell conflicts between organized religion and disruptive elements of society. This could play out in all sorts of ways, eg, clergy scandals, attacks on holy sites, challenges to spiritual doctrines.
