About Me
I am an energy practitioner with a strong passion for helping people realize their own inner strengths and abilities. I believe in an integrative approach to health management, assisting my clients in their journey to healing and self-empowerment. Whether recovering from an injury, an illness, or feeling stressed, my goal is to help clients regain balance and optimal health. I have worked with a very diverse group of clients over the years. From a simple injury to palliative care, every person is unique but all have one common thread; the desire to be in control of their own well being, an active participant in their health management.
Diagnosed with MS in 1981, I have spent many years working with my own energy system, allowing me to remain mobile, stable, and healthy. I am also a Reiki master and it is the combination of both "systems" that I use in my work. As an energy practitioner I am able to help clients heal, on all levels. As a person living with MS, I am able to offer hope, support, understanding, and empathy. Energy medicine is one piece of the healing puzzle; an integrative approach to health care and wellness completes the picture.

About Me

I am a Reiki Master, energy practitioner in Calgary Alberta. My journey on the path of healing arts began in 1981.

My Story - A Grim Prognosis

I remember the beginning, lying in a hospital bed, vision almost gone, and the left side of my body refusing to cooperate with my right side. This mantra keeps running through my head; it’s not a tumor, it’s not a tumor.

Four weeks and many tests later, the doctor appears, grim faced and stern of voice. “You have chronic progressive multiple sclerosis.” I’m told a wheelchair is in my future, that future may only be a decade, and if you had any hopes of having children a dog would be a better option.

Tragedy or Miracle:

News delivered, his mission accomplished, my doctor left to bring good tidings to another unsuspecting patient. There was more news coming and to this day I wonder whose medical chart the doctor was reading. Yes, I had severe MS, yes, the prognosis was grim. But! What's this about kids? Doctor, I had enough radiation in me to glow in the dark from all your tests. So tell me how you missed a first trimester pregnancy? I know pregnancy was never mentioned, I'd never missed a pill but how did you miss it? Turns out he had an answer for that too. A "birth control baby", one we can terminate immediately.

Learning to Heal Myself

This news was delivered at around 14 weeks gestation. Again with a grim faced, stern voice and horror stories of probable radiation damage, foetal deformities, the doctor presented another grim outcome! Did this guy ever deliver good news? So far I'm batting zero and my odds are getting worse. I refuse to terminate and I insist on stopping my medication - large doses of Prednisone that have kept me in a state of constant nausea for a month. Learning all I could about nerves, auto-immune disorders, and was there a way to cheat the grim reaper, became my souls’ focus. Vitamins and nutrition were my starting point. Learning to work with my body’s energy field to support my nervous system placed me firmly on the road. I still walk today Yes walk, 18 years past my predicted expiry date. And the pregnancy? She’s beautiful, 26, and very healthy!

From My Healing to Helping Others

Through my business, Energyworx, I have been blessed to be a part of many peoples' journies to their own wellness. For today, I am still walking, still laughing, and always grateful for the ability to help others with their healing! My door is open to those who need me, and as of yet, I've never promoted my services - but those who need me, find me. If you would like to know more, please don't hesitate to message me!

Hi Joey,
Thanks for the invite. My husband was diagnosed with MS in 1991. His positive spiritual attitude has played a big part in keeping him out of a full-time wheelchair. I have also given him Reiki and Homeopathy which has helped him too. I'd love to meet you sometime - perhaps at the Expo?

Joey,

Your story is inspirational, it's amazing how we encounter challenges in life that are set there to guide us on our journey. What seem's like a curse turns out to be a blessing as long as we are willing to open up to the possibilities which are endless.
Thanks for inviting me.

Diana

Dear Joey,
Thank you for the invite, since I am new to this forum. I loved your story and I find it to be very inspiring. What do they say about life? Its what happens after you've made your plans. Well in this case, life had biiger plans for you than the prognosis given by your doctor. I would like to here more about what you have done over the years. Write when you can.
Regards from Montreal.

Hi Joey,

Thanks for the number...Once I am in Calgary, I will have a better understanding of what time I will be free for the night...and then I will be able to let you know, I will most likely call you from the airport and see if you are available...I will keep up communication and when the date gets closer, let you know exactly when and if you are free and I have time after I drop the group then that would be wonderful....

in peace,
Anita
