- I am a Healer, Speaker, Teacher, Writer, Artist, Dancer and Spiritual Seeker.
My Healing work currently takes the form of Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki which I've been practicing CST for nearly 10 years and 6 years respectively. I graduated from U of C with Honors in Psychology in 1995 and worked for several years as a counsellor/therapist with various local agencies helping those dealing with addictions, trauma, and abuse.
Since childhood, I have had an awareness of what I now know as energy. I would see, know and feel things about people, beings, and events that was normal to me, but I quickly learned created fear in others when discussed. I became judicious about what I shared and when, but still used this awareness in my life - most particularily when working with my clients as a counselor. I found that this created a space for much deeper healing than general therapy ever could.
I came to CST and energy work as a client after a car accident in 1998. I was hooked and decided this was the course I wanted to pursue instead of practicing psychology or social work in an official capacity. Although I had read much on metaphysics and energy work, this modality gave me a framework to understand and deepen my already burgeoning awareness and curiosity.
I took my first CST class in early 2000 with the Upledger Institute. In addition to my advanced training and education in CranioSacral Therapy, I have also studied many other healing modalities, including Reiki (Master) and Heart Centered Therapy, all of which I utilize as appropriate in each session.
I danced for 16 years (primarily ballet, but also jazz, modern, song and dance, and gymnastics) primarily in Calgary, but also Edmonton and Vancouver. I have also taught and choreographed ballet and jazz for many recitals and competitions.
This lifetime of experience of movement, creativity and expression deeply influences my work today: I see healing work as a dance of energy - it is truly energetic art.
I love the trans-formative and ever evolving nature of my work. It is such a joy, privilege and honor to be part of and witness to another's healing journey.
- My Interests
- I love my husband and best four legged canine friend dearly - we are the three amigos! I love hiking and photography (these two usually go together!) with said best friends, yoga, dance, writing, art, and reading (usually sci-fi, fantasy, cookbooks, and metaphysics). Cooking and baking are a real passion and I am unexpectedly now discovering the new world of gluten free baking, which is an interesting and rewarding challenge! I love to travel (have not yet done enough of this!), and am writing my first fictional novel.
